I wake up each morning in pain
Knowing what I'll face this day
Scrapping up the last bits of hope
From the bottom of my rusted bowl
Each morning I plaster on that smile
Wondering how clowns do it all the time
Thinking again of what to dress as today
Someone new, someone blue, someone fake
My friends steal my promises from me
What happened to giving me time to heal?
They don't see through the brave face I show
They stand up and applaud for the encore
The stars bring to be a time to breathe
All alone- I strip off the make-up and weep
My prayers are clearly not enough it seems
Because sunlight brings the pain back to me
